Holding a practicing certificate issued by ACCA means that we are authorised to provide a range of general accountancy services to individuals and businesses, including business tax advice and planning, preparation of personal and business tax returns, set up of bookkeeping and business systems, providing bookkeeping services, payroll, assistance with management accounting, budgeting and cashflow advice, business start-up advice and expert witness.

Kevin Heaton
Managing Director
Kevin rocks his Fellow Member status at The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) with true flair, leveraging his profound insights from The Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
Sporting a Bachelors Honours Degree (BSc) in Applied Accounting, Kevin kicked off his own Accountancy Practice back in 1999, leveraging over two decades of hands-on business experience in the UK. Having navigated the entrepreneurial seas as a Sole Trader, Partner, and Director, Kevin has garnered a treasure trove of knowledge about the business world's ups, downs, and everything in between. Now, he channels this wealth of experience into actionable wisdom for our team and tailored strategic guidance for our clients.
When he steps away from the spreadsheets and strategy sessions, Kevin dives into the vibrant world of plant-based cooking. He's all about whipping up delectable, colorful dishes and sharing these culinary delights with his family. Plus, his passion for an eclectic mix of music infuses even more joy and energy into his cooking adventures, turning each meal into its own little celebration.

Nish Mistry

Nish Mistry began his career in tax and accountancy with a strong academic foundation and now brings over a decade of hands-on experience advising businesses across the UK and internationally. Specialising in VAT, international tax, and corporate structuring, he works closely with fast-growing SMEs, property groups, and multinational organisations.
Nish is particularly known for his empathy with SME owners and founders. Having advised owner-managed businesses at every stage of growth, he understands the commercial pressures, personal risks, and day-to-day decisions that sit behind the numbers. This allows him to deliver advice that is not only technically robust, but genuinely practical and relevant.
As a founder-led advisor, Nish believes good tax advice should be clear, commercial, and actionable. He focuses on building long-term relationships, providing transparent, plain-English guidance that gives clients confidence to make informed decisions and grow their businesses with clarity and trust.
Leo Colgar
Co-Founder
Leo is driven by a clear goal of helping business owners succeed. He works closely with clients to build practical and robust tax and financial processes that support growth as well as compliance. With a strong focus on small to medium sized businesses, Leo delivers tailored tax and accounting solutions aligned to each client’s commercial objectives.
Leo began his career at KPMG before moving into senior accounting roles within international organisations. Over more than 20 years in the profession, he has developed deep expertise across management accounting and public practice.
He provides comprehensive accounting and tax services including individual, corporate, partnership and not for profit tax returns, along with compilations and payroll tax reporting. Leo also advises on and supports computerised accounting systems, helping clients streamline processes and gain clearer financial insight.
Leo is a Registered Tax Agent and a Chartered Tax Advisor with The Tax Institute, reflecting his commitment to technical excellence and high professional standards.

Joseph Heaton
Head of Strategy
Joseph kicked off his journey in the accountancy world armed with an honours degree in Accounting & Finance, diving straight into graduate accountant training at a notable regional mid-tier firm. Alongside honing his practical skills, he pursued ACCA studies to attain chartered status, and didn't stop there – he went on to master his craft with a master's degree in Professional Accountancy.
For Joseph, empathy isn't just a buzzword – it's the cornerstone of truly connecting with and understanding clients. This belief shaped HV's ethos: maintaining straightforward, regular communication and a pricing structure that's as clear as day. Joseph's vision has always been about demystifying accountancy, making it more relatable and accessible for every client.

Emilio's backstory reads like an atlas, with childhood chapters unfolding in seven countries spanning South America, Asia, and the Middle East. His educational journey took him from classrooms in Hong Kong back to the UK, where he earned an Honours Degree and honed his skills at a leading mid-tier Practice, all while pursuing his ACCA Chartered status.
Outside the innovative world of HV, Emilio embraces fatherhood, cheers on Norwich FC with fervor, and indulges his passions for cars and globe-trotting, infusing his work at HV with the same energy and enthusiasm he applies to every aspect of his life.
